Wintertree Software is pleased to announce the release of Sentry Spelling Checker Engine Software Development Kit for Java, version 5.7. This version includes several new features that make it possible for Java applet developers and Web page designers to incorporate spell-checking capability into their Web pages. Increasingly, the Web is being used for sophisticated form and text entry, and the lack of spelling checkers has forced users to resort to awkward solutions such as copying text to their word processors for checking. A Web page containing an applet which uses the Sentry spelling checker can make spell checking as easy as clicking a button.
The Sentry Spelling Checker Engine Software Development Kit for Java is available now and sells for a list price of [see catalog for pricing]. The license agreement which comes with Sentry permits unlimited redistribution of the engine and dictionaries with a Java applet or application.
