How to order

You can order our products using the following methods:

• Order on-line
  

• Ordering by purchase order
  
• Ordering by check or money order
  
• Ordering by wire transfer

Ordering on-line

You can order Wintertree Software products using our secure, on-line ordering system. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Go to the catalog, then click on the link for the product family you are interested in ordering. This will display a catalog form with items for each specific product in the product family.

2. Locate the product you want to order, then click on the "Add to cart" button. You can change the quantity before clicking the button. Don't worry if you make a mistake -- you can adjust quantities or items in the order form.

3. If you want to order more items, return to the catalog and repeat the procedure.

4. When you have selected the items you wish to order, click on the "Checkout" link to display the order form.

5. Fill in the order form, then click the "Submit" button.

Ordering by Purchase Order

If you are ordering from a company within North America, you can FAX a purchase order to us at 613-692-0208.

Place your order via our web site, and in the order form, select "Purchase order" as the payment option.

Fax your purchase order to 613-692-0208. The purchase order should include:

• A shipping address, name, and phone number;
  

• A billing address, name, phone number, and FAX number;
  
• A purchase order number issued by your company's accounting department;
  
• Your order id (provided when you submit your order) or a copy of your order form.

All purchase orders are subject to approval. We may require that credit information be supplied on request.

Ordering by Check or Money Order

Place your order via our web site, and in the order form, select "Check/money order" as the payment option.

• To prepay your order, please send a check or money order drawn on a Canadian or U.S. bank to Wintertree Software's address.
  

• Include your order id (provided when you submit your order) or a copy of your order form.
  
• Checks must have magnetic MICR digits along the bottom or they will be rejected by our bank and we will be forced to return them to you, resulting in order-processing delays.

Ordering by Wire Transfer

Our experience has shown that paying by wire transfer is prone to error and confusion. Our bank provides no way of determining where funds wire-transferred into our account originated, so if several customers pay by wire transfer at the same time we must wait until all transfers have been completed before any can be processed. Wire-transferred funds can take hours or days to arrive in our account. Tracking problems with wire transfers can be costly and time consuming for both parties. We therefore recommend that you pay by wire transfer only when other payment methods are unavailable.

Return Policy

Products purchased through a reseller must be returned to the reseller, and are subject to the reseller's return policies.

Products purchased directly from Wintertree Software are subject to the following return policy:

• Wintertree Software products can be returned within 30 days of purchase for refund, less shipping charges and less a 10% return processing fee. The return processing fee is calculated on the product's sale price.
  

• Returned products must be in resalable condition and include all documentation and media shipped with the product. (This does not apply to products delivered electronically.)
  
• Contact Wintertree Software Sales Dept. prior to returning the products to obtain a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) number. Please provide the product name, serial number, date of purchase, and reason for return.
  
• The return must be accompanied by a signed and dated letter stating that all of the software has been completely uninstalled and all backup copies and archives of the software have been destroyed. If the software was ordered by an organization (e.g., a company or government department), the letter must be on the organization's letterhead. The letter must reference the RMA number provided by Wintertree Software's Sales Dept. The letter must be delivered physically (e.g., through airmail). E-mail or fax is not acceptable.
  
• Product to be returned must be securely packaged.
  
• The returned package must be clearly labelled with the RMA number on the outside of the package.
  
• All returned products will be inspected on receipt, and, at our discretion, credit may be refused and the product will be returned to the customer. Incomplete or damaged products will not be accepted (does not apply to products delivered electronically).
  
• Customer is responsible for shipping charges on returned goods.
  
• We reserve the right to reject any return application which we believe is made fraudulently.
  
• All return materials must be received in acceptable condition by Wintertree Software within 30 days of the original invoice date or the return will not be accepted.

Replacement Policy

Wintertree Software receives many requests from its customers for replacement of "lost" software, forcing us to initiate the following policy:

• Proper care and security of delivered software products is the customer's responsibility. We recommend that all customers immediately make a backup copy of any delivered software, and keep the backup in a safe place.

• If the software is lost within 30 day of shipment, Wintertree Software will replace it at no charge if the software can be delivered via download. If the software was shipped through courier or other physical delivery, there will be a $10.00 US order re-processing fee plus shipping charges, unless the loss resulted from error on Wintertree Software's part, in which case the fee and shipping charges will be waived. If the software was originally delivered via download, it can be resent to the original e-mail address only.

• Software lost after 30 days of shipment must be repurchased at 25% of its current selling price, plus any applicable shipping charges. Proof of purchase is required. The usual means of replacing the software is by purchasing a version upgrade for the same product.

Disclaimer of Warranty

The following Disclaimer of Warranty applies to all of Wintertree Software's software products, unless specifically overridden in the product's License Agreement:

THIS SOFTWARE IS SOLD "AS IS" AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES AS TO PERFORMANCE OR MERCHANTABILITY.

THIS SOFTWARE IS SOLD WITHOUT ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES WHATSOEVER. BECAUSE OF THE DIVERSITY OF CONDITIONS AND HARDWARE UNDER WHICH THIS SOFTWARE MAY BE USED, NO WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE IS OFFERED. THE USER IS ADVISED TO TEST THE SOFTWARE THOROUGHLY BEFORE RELYING ON IT. THE USER MUST ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK OF USING THE SOFTWARE. ANY LIABILITY OF SELLER OR MANUFACTURER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE.
